Palestinian National Voice Organization

What is the PNV organization?
Many members of the Palestinian Canadian community have been working for years to establish a trulyrepresentative organization that will give us the ability to speak in our own voice. This organization hasbeen tentatively named the Palestinian National Voice (PNV).Why a PNV Organization?Our cause is just: Our people are subjected to ongoing ethnic cleansing; their rights are denied and theirlives have been shattered. Yet despite the justice of our cause, our voice is not heard and respected inCanada. We need organized action.We have significant communities across Canada that include many highly skilled activists andprofessional people. It is time to unite our efforts and to speak in one voice. Until now PalestinianCanadians have not had a truly representative organization to voice their own concerns as a community.The mission statement of the PNV organization is,

To identify, articulate, defend and pursue the rights and interests of the Palestinianpeople in Canada, in exile and in Palestine in accordance with the principles of theorganization and to coordinate the efforts of the Palestinian community in Canada andits organizations.

How is it being organized?
The PNV is being organized around a few basic democratic principles. It is inclusive. Membership is opento the entire Palestinian Canadian community over 16 years of age without exception. Each member whoregisters with the PNV organization will have an equal say in selecting leaders and determining policy.Local chapter groups will name their own representatives that will carry the opinions of their members tothe national organization and set PNV policies with a vote proportional to the number of persons theyrepresent in the organization. Many details about the organization are still being decided. The PNVorganization has convened 3 national preparatory conferences since this initiative was started.

When is the Founding Convention?
The PNV will be formally launched at a founding convention in Montreal on the weekend of May 30 –June 1, 2008. We look forward to your joining us at this historic event.

Attached is the PNV organization's Membership Registration Form. Just complete it and submit it to thePNV: by email (scanned signed form with completed credit card section) to membership@pnvcanada.org ;by fax (signed form with completed credit card section) to (613) 482-5990; or by mail (signed form withcompleted credit card section, or with a cheque/money order made payable to "PNV") to PNVAccreditation Committee, Suite 201–3730 Richmond Road, Nepean, ON K2H 5B9.
